Sustainable Energy for the Future: Parmaco with Its Own Photovoltaic System
Sustainability and economic efficiency do not have to be mutually exclusive. At Parmaco AG, they go hand in hand. With the commissioning of its own photovoltaic system in July 2024, the company is making a deliberate investment in a future-proof energy supply and is taking responsibility for both environmental impact and operating costs. The new installation covers around a quarter of total electricity demand and significantly reduces the company’s ecological footprint. At the same time, Parmaco benefits from more stable and lower long-term energy costs, as self-generated solar power does not incur grid charges. In an environment of rising energy levies and increasing costs associated with peak demand, in-house power generation proves to be a clear advantage. The article also examines the composition of electricity costs in Switzerland and explains why internal power generation is becoming increasingly important for industrial companies. This analysis of the present is complemented by a look into the future. With the planned integration of energy storage systems, Parmaco aims to further increase self-consumption and strategically reduce peak loads. The photovoltaic system is therefore more than an экологic measure. It is an expression of a sustainable entrepreneurial mindset that combines long-term security of supply, economic viability, and responsibility.
