MIM in sensor technology

In some cases, conventional plastic sensors are either not allowed or do not withstand the surrounding conditions. In such cases, sensors with MIM housings are applied. These high-quality sensors are usually seen in the Food industry or in tanks containing corrosive liquids. In order to live up to These high standards, the complex formed sensor housings are produced of stainless steel using the Metal Injection Molding process. Another advantage of MIM housings is that, despite the fact that the sensors are made out of steel, the weight of the sensor can be reduced because the design can be customized at will.
